So…What is ClickFunnels?

It’s my favorite, and happens to be what I teach…imagine that!
So…What is Affiliate Marketing?!
It is when you get your own personalised link (url) for a product, software or service that you want to promote.
And whenever someone purchases through that personalised link, your affiliate link – as we call it, you get a commission from the sale.
For example, Amazon has the biggest affiliate program in the world!
And if you’re signed up to Amazons affiliate program, you can promote every single product on their website. Then, if someone purchases through your affiliate link – you make money.
Before I get too far into this part, just a quick FYI:
I do not suggest promoting physical products on amazon, when just starting out with affiliate marketing, because the commissions are much lower. (10% being the highest on amazon)
I would suggest starting with digital products, softwares or services – where you can get up to 80% commission per sale.
And with some of those affiliate programs, you can even make recurring commissions!
…Whereas with Amazon, it’s a one-time sale.
What An Affiliate Link Looks Like:
They will usually have some type of “ref” for referer or “aff id” for affiliate id somewhere in the link…with a bunch of random letters and numbers as well.
You’ve probably seen them on social media before without even knowing it.
People link straight to affiliate links on social media all the time, because they’re hungry for the money. And don’t want to provide value first…which gets them nothing in the long run.
Posting straight to affiliate links on social or the first time you talk to someone is like literally the number 1 rule of what NOT to do.
If you get nothing else out of this blog, please remember that!
Anyways, hope that helped give you at least a basic understand of what affiliate marketing is and how affiliate links work!

- Then to purchase you’ll have to go the checkout page, where you’ll have to fill in a bunch of forms, select a shipping method.
- And finally…after you’ve paid for it, that’s it. Goodbye, see you next time.
Now… here is a landing page for an e-commerce funnel I have in my ClickFunnels account:
Before I get any further, let me clear something up…
These 2 websites/funnels i’m using as examples are both dropshipping products from china.
Which means they don’t hold inventory and send the product straight to the buyer, directly from the seller in china.

Spoiler alert: Dropshipping is #3, if you wanted to get a more in depth explanation on that.
I don’t want to get into it on this blog, but just thought I should clear that up so there isn’t any confusion!
Anyways… back to the content!
Just looking at it, you can already tell the differences… right?
There is no buttons and navigation all over the page, like how it is on the regular e-commerce website.
Nothing jumping out at you, besides 1 button and some headlines.
Which means – On the funnel there is only one option, purchase the product…
Or leave…
I know, I know…Unfortunately, there’s no navigation bar on the funnel to get your AWESOME activated charcoal tooth paste to match your brand new posture corrector…
I’m sure people are just dying to brush their teeth with that activated charcoal, while wearing their brand new posture corrector…
Anyways, you might still thinking, well…it’s still the same idea, they both dropship a product – so what’s the difference?
3 more key differences:
- The editor is drag and drop simple, so no coding is needed. Which makes the funnels way easier to set up and edit colors, text, etc.
- The fact that funnels convert customers at 300% higher conversion rate
- AND because ClickFunnels has marketing secrets hidden under the hood.
Here is the true power of a funnel…
So…there’s something called an o.t.o (one-time offer) or a ‘one-click upsell.’
Russell Brunson, one of the best marketing geniuses in the world and the ClickFunnels founder, came up with this concept. Well he may not have came up with it, but he definitely mastered it!
He made it where you could offer a product for free with just a small shipping cost on the front end and make MORE money than…let’s call him Bill, whu has a $200 product on the front end.
You’re probably wondering…how can I make more money than Bill, when he has the 200 dollar product and i’m selling something that’s free?
It’s really simple – not many people will purchase a 200 dollar product from Bill.
But, when you offer something for free and all the customer has to do, is pay a couple of dollars for shipping, you’ll get a lot more buyers.
But will THAT many more people really order the free product?
Well maybe, maybe not…
But you really don’t need that many more people to buy your free product to make more than Bill
And it’s because of those o.t.o’s or one-click upsells! (+order bumps)
A one-click upsell works this way:
You get someone to put in their credit card details for a free product, e.g. a free bikini or a free book, on the front end.
Then, your first upsell is on the checkout page. This is before they even complete their initial order and you do the first upsell with something called an order bump… (more on that in a second)
After that, you can go ahead and lead them down your funnel with your o.t.o’s – providing them with more products that are going to compliment the front end offer…
Or even just adding in more of the same product, at a cheaper price. This works amazing!
Anyways – It’s actually been proven that once you get someone to say yes for a small thing, they are much more likely to say yes to another thing.
Even if it’s a little bit bigger, it’s all better than just having the 1 and only front end product like the traditional e-commerce website has to offer.
The reason why they’re so much more likely to buy after saying yes, is because they’re now in the buyer’s state of mind.
If you do it right – you can get up to 30% (or more) of your customers to take you up on your one-time offers!
They pay shipping on the FREE + Shipping offer (this is very important)
And on the order bump, you get them to pay let’s say 30 dollars for an additional product. (explanation of an order bump coming soon, I promise!)
Then…on the one-time offer, you can use the power of a one-click upsell.
Because they’ve already put in their credit card details for the small shipping charge, all they have to do is click “Yes, Add It To My Order”
And then the product is added to their order with the click of a button.
And since they paid that shipping they don’t even have to re-enter their information again! (that’s why the charging that shipping is so important)
Then you have the option of adding more upsells, downsells, adding in continuity programs where you charge a monthly fee.
And lastly you bring them to the thank you page/order confirmation page where you can also link them to:
A higher ticket product, different related products, a simple confirmation/receipt or a video to show them how to access the membership site that they just agreed to pay us $39 for EVERY SINGLE MONTH…all with just ONE CLICK!!
Are you seeing the power now?
Does this get you as hyped as it does me?
Well, I know you gotta at least know the difference between the 2 now…right?
So here’s a visual representation of what I was saying up there:
Step #1 – You saw the landing page already. (that’s technically step 1)
After you click the button to “Get Your Bikini For FREE” you then get directed to the order form page. (below)
Step #2 – You will need to fill in step 1 & 2 with your details. Step 2 of the order form is where you will see the first upsell: the order bump. (below)
The order bump is right above the complete order button and you can see conversion rates up to 50% with the right offer. It’s very powerful.
You can add more of the same product here if you’d like, or just add another related product with a good price point.
Step #3 – You’ve ordered and you meet the first o.t.o. (upsell)
The first sentence “WAIT! Your Order Is Not Complete” catches the customers’ attention. And the upsell is a continuity program. With just $39.95 per month you get to join the Bikini club.It also list the benefits of joining the club.
But yours could be anything:
- Access to a membership site, clubs, etc..
- A monthly box of products sent out – BarkBox or MentorBox
- Software as a service with monthly recurring commissions (cough…cough…CLICKFUNNELS affiliate program)
You get the idea 🙂
If you are thinking of starting your own E-commerce brand or even Drop shipping from china, I’d suggest you come up with some type of continuity program beforehand…you wont regret this!
WIth a continuity program and the power of ClickFunnels combined, it will allow you be able to spend more to acquire a customer than your competition.

Step #4 – You then have the option of adding another upsell for a product or service. Like this:
Once again, add more of the same or a very similar product.
And you can add more upsells if you’d like, but i’d stick to this amount. You don’t want to annoy your new customer!
Step #5 – Lastly, the Thank You page.
And this is just a basic thank you page, giving them extra information.
Here you can also link to other products on different funnels, or just simply thank them for ordering and give them the receipt and what ever other information they need to access the products, services or software.

Navigating through ClickFunnels interface/menu
Account Details – houses all your account information.

Domains – You get one free domain when you sign up for ClickFunnels. You can also link your own domains very easily.
Digital Assets – This controls stuff like uploading Favicons, images, etc…
My Templates – This is where you can save all the funnel templates you’ve built with ClickFunnels that you might want to put on other funnels with a click of a button. (for example a footer template to have at the bottom of your websites)
SMTP settings – Contains the settings to your SMTP server for sending emails.
Global Unsubscribe -This is where you can Prevent email communications in large quantities by typing in email addresses manually or entering in a file with no more than 100,000 emails (lol) at a time.
Payment Gateway – This is where you will link to services like Stripe for processing payments.
Account Billing – This is where you go to manage your ClickFunnels subscription.
