Hey, Thomas Garetz here…

…and THIS is my story:

Ever since I was a young boy, I always had the entrepreneurial juices flowing in me.

I would have lemonade stands at the end of my block with my neighbor as often as we could, we would mow lawns in the summer, shovel snow in the winter, and do just about everything kids could do to make a buck.

I always wanted to start a business, but I just never thought that it was possible to do so.

Mostly because my parents (and just about everyone at the time) would tell me that “you need to go to school, go to college, get a job, etc etc.”

(Mind you, this was back in the day with dial up internet and before social media ever really existed… so there was even less options back then.)

But the problem was, I ALWAYS hated school and I never wanted to go to college…

And unfortunately, being told that going to school and getting a job was the only way… completely killed my ambitions – which is probably part of the reason why I ended up getting into drugs at such a young age.

And to make it worse, that led to me being addicted to heroin…

I spent 6 years of my life in the shackles of heroin addiction.

I had a few months of sobriety here and there, because I would always try to quit… (unfortunately I could never STAY clean).

And that led me into $20,000 in debt… which was around the time I ended up becoming an IV heroin user…

This is when things started to get REALLY bad.

It was about a year of using like that and this is what happened:

I “nodded out” at the wheel 4 different times, crashed 3 different cars, and overdosed 13 times…

My Mom literally had my funeral planned out…

My own family didn’t even think I would survive…

I didn’t really either…

Honestly, I don’t know how I did.

One of the last 2 times I overdosed, I was in my car… alone…

Some random person found me, tried to give me cpr and called the ambulance and they brought me back to life… 

Unfortunately, the police came too…

And I ended up getting charged with a DUI from the police, but I will gladly take the DUI over being dead, any day. (I also ending up beating the case)

But I’m not kidding you, I don’t know how it happened…

Every time I overdosed, someone I was with either had Narcan with them or some random person found me and called an ambulance…

It’s things like that, that made me believe that I was meant for something more.

I mean, even with all of those car accidents… I never once hit another car (or person) even though I veered through lanes on the highway, crashed into a tree and even went into oncoming traffic’s lane one time…

…and after all of that, I never even got hurt!! (I just totaled a few cars)

Honestly, it’s hard to type some of this stuff… because not many people get THAT many chances… I mean seriously…

I’m not really a spiritual person either, but I obviously had some angels looking over me…

But trust me, I’m BEYOND grateful!

However, even after all these incidents… it still took me quite some time to actually get clean, and STAY clean…

I know that sounds insane to anyone who has never been addicted to something, right? 

You hear so many “normal” people say: “why don’t you just quit?”

And oh boy, do I wish it was that easy!

But anyways, back to the story…

It actually wasn’t until I saw a YouTube video about starting an online business and there being a better way than working your entire life…

I don’t know what it was about that video, but it really resonated with me.

And about 6 months later… I was finally clean!!

Unfortunately, I found out that I had Hepatitis C a little while before getting clean… and that was definitely one of the driving factors that truly helped me get clean this time.

HOWEVER… Fast forward to today…

  • I am almost 3 years clean while I’m typing this. (Thank God)
  • My insurance basically covered 100% of the Medication that cures Hep C. (those pills cost $1,000 each and I took 1 pill, each day, for 84 days… again, INSANELY fortunate).
  • I have paid off ALL of my debt that I accrued during active addiction!

AND…

  • In January of 2019, I started my affiliate marketing business with my own LLC

That’s all amazing, right?

But 6 months into my online business, I hadn’t made a single penny…

…and I was feeling really discouraged.
