“Can I do affiliate marketing on Facebook for free?“
“Do I have to pay money?“
“Do I have to know how to run paid ads?“
These are the type of questions I’ve been getting a lot of lately.
And in this blog, I’m going to show you the step-by-step strategy you can use to do affiliate marketing on Facebook, in 2019, 100% FREE.

Steps For Doing Affiliate Marketing on Facebook
Step #1 – Facebook Page or Facebook Profile
You have to decide whether you’re going to be using a Facebook Business Page or your regular Facebook Profile.
Now… There are benefits for both.
The benefit for using a business page is that you are able to boost your posts, run paid ads and re-target visitors from your website…
However, that is a little more advanced.
That’s why I suggest using your regular Facebook profile to start out.
The benefit for using your profile is that you get WAY more organic reach and engagement.
Facebook has announced, very openly, that if you’re using a business page… your organic reach is going to be cut down a ton. (They want you to use paid ads to reach people)
And organic reach basically means: how many people you are connected with that are actually going to SEE your post.
Therefore, on your profile your reach is going to be much higher.
And that’s why I 100% suggest starting with using your FB profile, but it’s totally up to you!
Step #2 – You Have To Pick a Niche
What picking a niche basically means is, you just have to pick a certain category within a larger category.
For example: I’m inside of the how to make money online category went down to the affiliate marketing niche.
It’s best to be as specific as possible and not try to be everyone for everything. (Try going 1-2 layers deep)
You’ll thank me later!
Anyways, for example: inside of the health and fitness category, if you went 1 category deeper you would be apart of the dieting niche and then teach women how to lose weight with the keto diet.
Step #3 – Decide Which Software You’ll Use
Choosing the software you use can be one of the most important steps in starting your affiliate marketing business (or any business, for that matter) if you don’t do it the right way.
The 2 main software you need for your business are a Page Builder to build your website/landing pages and the #1 MOST IMPORTANT software, that you need NO MATTER WHAT… is an email service provider. (AKA an email autoresponder)
An autoresponder is what you use to collect and send out emails for your business. You can also use your autoresponder to set up automated emails to go out when people subscribe. (VERY important)
But building landing pages are super important, as well… However, if you use a software like ConvertKit, it will double as your email autoresponder AND they even have landing page templates that you can use inside. (For FREE)
And I personally use ClickFunnels and ConvertKit (along with plenty more, which tends to happen after you’ve been in business for awhile) but I suggest starting out with spending as LITTLE money as possible.
Therefore I suggest just starting with ONLY ConvertKit, which you can get through my affiliate link here.
Step #4 – Creating Your Lead Magnet
Now, creating your lead magnet is how you’re going to be able to collect emails in the first place.
If you don’t know what a lead magnet is, that’s basically something you will give away to people for FREE (on a landing page) in exchange for someones email address.
You can create an eBook, checklist, cheat-sheet, etc.
It doesn’t have to be complicated. Honestly, the more simple it is, the better!
You can create your lead magnet/pdf inside of Canva. It’s 100% free to create an account.

And while you’re in Canva, you’re going to want to create a cover photo and a featured photo for your Facebook profile.
Or you can pay someone on Fiverr to do it.
These photos, along with the bio on your profile, are considered your “Facebook Profile Funnel.”
That means, when people come to view your profile, they see those and they click it and follow the link.
But just be careful if you or someone else is creating your cover photo, because it will show up differently on mobile than it does on desktop.

Now, you can see I have a Facebook group – I do suggest you starting a FB group if you are ONLY going to be using FB as your strategy.
However, if you’re doing anything else (YouTube, Blogging, etc.) Don’t bother. You just want to keep it simple. Don’t spread yourself too thin.
Step #5 – Join Facebook Groups in Your Niche
So, this is how you’re going to start getting people over to view your profile and go through your “Facebook Profile Funnel.”
We’re going to join 3, 4, maybe 5 different groups that are in your niche.
Now, go into each of these groups and SPAM them…
I kid, I kid…
Do NOT spam in these groups.
Don’t even post right away, unless you’re introducing yourself.
You will get kicked out super quick if you do that, UNLESS you talk to the group owner and get the okay from them to post.
What you want to do is go into each of these groups (try to do it every single day) and answer peoples questions.
Do NOT ask them to “message me for more info” or “message me if you have any questions.”
People can smell that from 1,000 miles away.
You want to answer their questions, without expecting ANYTHING in return.
Trust me, if you do this… People WILL come over to your profile and they will go through your profile funnel and you WILL get people into your group, lead magnet, or whatever you are promoting.
You’ll also start getting a ton of people adding you as friends. I personally get over 100 friend requests every week with this strategy.
However, I don’t just accept anyone.
You can do that at the start if you’d like.
But I personally only accept people who are active on Facebook AND apart of my Niche.
So, if I can’t see that they’re doing affiliate marketing on Facebook, chances are I don’t accept them.
And that’s the best way to go, in my opinion. Don’t accept people who you can’t tell they are in your niche from their profile.
Step #6 – Create Content EVERY DAY
This is honestly the most important step.
If you aren’t creating content every single day…
The people who DO come to your profile, most likely are NOT going to add you as a friend or go through your profile funnel.
So, with that being said… You MUST create content EVERY DAY.
This can be as simple as posting a quote.
However, I would keep the cat memes to a minimum 😛
Now, let’s say you created your FB group and you followed this strategy to a T, so far…
I suggest you should skip the cat memes and quotes and start doing LIVES every single day.
Do a 30-90 day live challenge.
Live videos have 10x more watch time and engagement than a regular uploaded video AND they definitely perform better than cat memes and quotes 😉
Anyways, you should start by doing those lives on your personal profile and sharing them into your group from there.
Do that until you have 100 people in your group and then you want to start doing exclusive lives in your group. (But keep posting on your profile every day for new people visiting your profile, you can do some quote posts and question posts)
I promise you after 30-90 days of doing lives every day your audience will be exponentially bigger.
AND you will be 10000x better at being on video.
It’s hard at first, I know.
But success doesn’t come from doing things that are easy or comfortable.
You gotta punch fear in the face and press RECORD… or in this situation, GO LIVE!
Honestly, look at my first YouTube videos – I was NOT good on camera, lol!!
Anyways… that’s exactly how you want to start. There’s only 1 more step now.
Just remember, you HAVE to continually create content. That means that this step is “never-ending.” (That is, if you want to do affiliate marketing on Facebook, or any platform, for that matter.)
Step #7 – Join a Paid Program to Promote
This step is obviously going to be VERY important. You need to make money in your business, right?
However, like I said before – focus on the steps before this.
Get people to join your tribe and join your email list.
Then, once they’re on your email list, that’s when you can start promoting paid products to them.
And if they know, like and trust you from seeing your live videos and your content (every day) they will trust you enough to buy what you are suggesting to them, via email.
There are tons of free affiliate networks with affiliate products in every niche, the 2 most popular being: Clickbank and JvZoo.
However, the products there (not all of them) are typically not the highest of quality.
And that’s why I suggest (if you plan on being in the affiliate marketing niche) to get started with my #1 recommendation here.
